Mentoring 2018-11-13T16:20:55+00:00

Form the Future’s mentoring programme is now in its third year, and we are on the lookout for more inspiring professionals committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people in our community. Last year, nearly 100 students from eight schools were matched with dedicated mentors from businesses and organisations across Cambridgeshire. This year we are expanding to Ely and need your help! If you’re interested in working with students at Bishop Laney Sixth Form, please get in touch!

Our volunteers and their mentees work together to discuss personal motivations and achieve agreed goals, such as choosing subjects or thinking about career pathways. We have found that building positive relationships, alongside their parents and teachers, can help young people gain confidence, resilience, motivation and direction. This is particularly important for the children from underprivileged backgrounds who are at-risk of disengaging from education.

You’ll benefit from a rewarding personal experience, knowing that sharing your passion for what you do will make a positive difference to the life of a young person.

We provide mentors with an enhanced DBS check and training so that they are fully prepped for the programme, and also facilitate all meetings. If you are able to commit to meeting your mentee at their school or college once a month, please get in touch.
