We recruit a range of professionals who lead small group sessions lasting 10-25 minutes minutes, involving a short activity, a talk and a Q&A session. Depending on timings, students typically see between four and six different employers. These informal workshops allow students to gain insight into a range of different careers.
Rationale: Many students lack an understanding of the jobs available to them, nor detailed knowledge of jobs they’re interested in. Gaining exposure to a wide variety of careers helps them make informed choices and guides decision-making around course choices for GCSEs, A levels and degrees. It can also help them understand where they can do an apprenticeship. Employers get the opportunity to highlight careers in areas where they have skills shortages
