Work experience lets students try out a career they’re interested in and learn what skills they need to succeed. It’s essential for getting paid work later on. Employers can talent-spot future employees.

We prepare students for work experience and provide health and safety checks for the placements.

When the funded Connexions service ended, many schools cancelled work experience for their year 10s. Our programme has students find their own placement. This gives students the opportunity to pursue a placement suited to their interests and passions and to learn the skills of searching and applying for jobs. We support students struggling to find a work placement and this is where we need employers’ support.

If you want to inspire a young person to pursue a career in your sector and you are willing to offer a young person a chance to gain work experience, go to Step Up and your post work experience opportunities directly to schools or contact us.
